6BA @ AC2R

Always a treat to get work near the home QTH! AC2R had an 8 year old steppir which the element boots had rotted and two of the elements had fallen out. We replaced with a F12 6BA with 2 elements on 40m.

N8CL Repair XM240

From Rochester we headed west to N8CL's to tighten up the boom to mast clamps on the XM240. We have seen this issue before, CC needs a better clamping system on the new XM240. The 40-CD was better, so we ended up using new hardware and some locktite to see if this holds.

JE2EHP Visit

We had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Yoshi-san JE2EHP. We took Yoshi to Ray's contest QTH and Yosh had fun running around 100 JA's both at sunset and sunrise (JA) and drinking beer, it doesn't get better then that! Yoshi met up with W2RE, WW2DX, WT4Q, W3JK, AB3CX and hams from ARRL Headquarters.

Headed back out to Alan K2WS and replaced the cabled on his LM470 crank up tower. Alan lives just about a mile from the ocean, it was a good time to replace the 12 year old cables!

DB36 @ K1XV

We had a fairly brutal winter in most of the northeast. K1XV lost his Force12 antennas to some real bad ice storms up on the mountain in VT. We ended up building a DB36, so far its been playing very well!
